Friday Favorites – 3.18.16

Another week has come and gone! This was a super laid back week for me, which was nice. My life has been moving at a slower pace in general since I made my big career change in November, but this week was extra quiet. The biggest thing that’s been going on is I have had a couple of interviews for new jobs over the past two weeks, so I feel like this might be the calm before the storm. I want to enjoy the calm while it lasts!
Anyway, I’m excited to spend this weekend with family and friends, hopefully enjoying some time outside before we get hit with snow (up to 8”, they say) on Monday. I thought we were done with winter, but Mother Nature tricked me, again, in true New England fashion. Lame.
Here’s a round up of some of my favorite things from the past seven days:

Favorite Monday Brunch
Okay,Β  Monday brunch isn’t really a thing, but it is quite a thing at Trina’s Starlite Lounge in Somerville, MA. It’s one of those places that is so unassuming from the outside, you really don’t know it’s there or what it is until someone tells you about it; one of those places you’re pissed you didn’t know about sooner.
They serve brunch on Sundays as well, and their Monday brunch started as an industry thing, so that people who worked other weekend brunches could enjoy their own brunch on a lowkey Monday. The menu is amazing and full of all the unhealthy brunch items that make life great. The cocktail menu is interesting and different, though still approachable. They play old school hip hop and the whole place has a retro 50s/60s vibe, which is one of my favorite combos ever.
If you’re looking for homemade poptarts, chicken and waffles or a good brunch burger, this is your spot. I definitely will be going back.

Favorite link is my favorite image-heavy blog. With tons of new eye candy on the regular, it is full of images to inspire your wardrobe with a minimalist, comfortable and badass aesthetic.

Favorite read
The Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll has been keeping me up way past my bedtime the past few days. This book became popular late last year, and I started reading it in November, but just got around to working on finishing it and I’m so glad I did. I have a few chapters left, and definitely will finish it this weekend. I can’t wait to see how this dark and (scarily) relatable story ends.

Favorite color palette:
The next detail I want to nail down for our wedding next year is the general color palette, and these are feeling really perfect for a spring/summer affair!
